Like most first-year college students, I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do with my life. However, after enrolling in a couple general education courses to satisfy graduation requirements, I found myself in an entry level communication studies class. It was here where I found my passion through an assignment that required us to shadow a company we wanted to work for, or a professional with a title we were interested in. In the same week of receiving the assignment, I booked a flight and hostel and flew out to San Francisco the following week where I shadowed a director of social media and editorial at a large, well-known fashion company. The incredible guidance and insight I was given in San Francisco has proven to be invaluable and has given me the inspiration to continue to chase my dreams and excel at them.

After returning back to Wisconsin, where I was in my undergrad, I reached out to around 30 different organizations in La Crosse, offering to help with social media management, content creation, or really anything digital media. This landed me my first self-starter "internship" at a luxury apartment building in La Crosse where I drafted, presented, and then created the building's first ever social campaign, which was a Snapchat geo-filter campaign. After teaching myself the inner-workings of Adobe Creative Cloud, I was able to execute the campaign with great success.

In the last couple of years, I have had the opportunity to gain a wide breadth of experience in areas of email marketing, graphic design, SEO, content management/writing , digital campaign production, influencer relations, public relations and, believe it or not hand modeling. As of today, I am working as a Marketing Coordinator in the luxury furnishing and design sector in Chicago, while finishing my Master's in Marketing Communication Management at the University of Southern California.

 

I am a big believer in story-telling, and a stories ability to shape the world toward a better tomorrow.  Whatever and whenever the next step may be in my career, I'd like to continue working for organizations which share these similar values, and assist their efforts in creating these stories,

the digital way.
